Aspirationally Jewish

The Aspiration to be Jewish: A Journey of Ongoing Healing and Transformation

The essence of being Jewish is the constant pursuit of healing.
The Jew is called to be in a state of continuous healing and growth. Therefore, he must never grasp onto a conception.
A conception will keep him in place – and standing in place generates and deepens illness.

After being accused of supporting anti-semitic comments, Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform “X”, recently visited Israel following the Hamas terrorist attack of October 7. Subsequently, he traveled to Poland and visited the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp, the largest of the death camps established by Nazi Germany during World War II, where over a million people were murdered, most of them Jews. There, he called himself “aspirationally Jewish”.

One can regard his statement as a public relations statement; one can also view this statement as wacky, or it’s possible to delve a bit into its depth, since after all, he chose, consciously or unconsciously, a creative and original term that seems to have sprung from his imagination rather than a PR playbook.

Elon Musk, just like each and every one of us, is a medium that can convey a message. And what is the message?
After all, everyone aspires to be Jewish.
Prophet Muhammad aspired to be “more Jewish”,
Jesus aspired to be “more Jewish”.
And Abraham? Along this line, symbolizes the fundamental and initial revelation of the belief in one God – he discovers uncertainty, accepts it, and commits not to grasp and tie it to deceitful conspiracies. He commits to always move, go forward and aspire to healing.
And what about the Jewish people? Essentially, they always need to make an effort and ensure to remain Jewish, not only passively by definition, based on their genetic affiliation, but also actively and relentlessly by fulfilling their role as Jews: to move together with the aspiration for healing.
Before everyone gets alarmed by the idea that Muhammad and Jesus aspired to be “more Jewish” it is advisable to take a deep breath and consider ”feeling” the message carefully.

What does aspiring to be Jewish mean?
It means to aspire to be on a journey of perpetual healing, embracing uncertainty, and constantly moving forward. This faith in uncertainty becomes the only certainty. In fact, this is the essence of divinity. It is about evolving, discovering, exploring, innovating and renewing while respecting and upholding the basic laws of nature.

In the digital book that I am writing and updating continuously, I published a chapter in September 2021 titled “Beware of Fragile Concepts.” This chapter introduces a new perspective tailored to contemporary times on the topic: The Jew, Concepts and Deities.
According to this innovative perspective, the Jew establishes a covenant with his deity, refusing to be bound or tied to conspiracies, ideologies, or templates, always remaining in dynamic motion.
He is not just moving aimlessly but he is moving purposefully towards healing and creativity, while adhering to a framework that enables and supports this movement.
Therefore, it is natural for every person to aspire to be Jewish, which is to say, to aspire to healing. The one aspiring to healing can indeed serve as an example and light the way.
The significant challenge lies not in the aspiration to be Jewish but in the ability to remain Jewish, to stay in motion. Sometimes the Jew, who aspires to healing, becomes weary, wants to stop, seeks a bit of ease, comfort, wants some relief, wants to stay in one place for a while – but then he gets stuck in artificial certainty.
Once he gets stuck, the entire world reacts to him – through wars, destruction, suffering and resistance. Anti-Semitism is one manifestation of such a resistance.
When the Jews aspiring to healing are at rest, they halt the movement of the wheel, and everyone gets delayed because of them. just as their rights don’t freeze when they wants to rest, they cannot rest from their duties. That is why the world is angry at them.

Elon Musk’s conceptual world is at first glance one of advanced technology and innovations that sometimes border on science fiction, with control, money and power being his driving forces. However, with an open mind, we understand that technology also can simulate healing and forward movement. Technology represents the desire to develop and move forward.  If harnessed correctly, it can not only produce a model for healing but also bring about actual healing.

The aspiration to be Jewish is not a religious step, but rather a conscious move that comes upon all of us.
If we choose to fear it and resist, we will bring suffering and destruction, but if we choose to enter its depths without fear, we will discover abundance, light, and prosperity.

Antisemitism, as we know it, as hatred of Jews, is itself a concept.
It is a product of internal frustration that develops within the general population, when healing is halted, delayed, becomes dirty, stagnates and gets stuck. Then, whom do we blame?
We blame the one seemingly entrusted with it, its messenger, a representative who is supposed to lead it and, above all, to implement it.

The term “anti-Semitism” should be reexamined through this perspective of personal responsibility, and not from the victim perspective.
In fact, everyone strives for healing;  few know the way, and even fewer are willing to commit to it.
When those deviating from the path are targeted, it is natural that arrows are directed at them.
Today, everyone must learn the way; it is the ultimate responsibility of each and every one.
The aspiration for healing is a commitment that is relevant and necessary not only today more than ever, but also now and forever.
